Frequently Asked Questions

.) Clock Movement, Dials & Bezels: I usually purchase high quality US made mini or compact quartz movements with a minimum six year manufacturers warranty. The clocks have six inch diamond etched imported German dials enclosed in curved glass with a solid brass bezel.

.) Clock Wood: With the exception of imported Honduras mahogany, I attempt to use local woods such as black walnut, red oak and hard maple. All are select solid hardwoods. I do not use plywood, veneer or other wood substitutes.

.) Clock Assembly: Contemporary design clock pieces are edge glued and their joints reinforced with mini biscuits to ensure durable construction. Scroll sawed clock frames are also joined at their comers with biscuits. Due to the expansion and contraction characteristics of wood (each species expands! contracts differently) the scroll sawed clock face pieces are loosely interested in a tongue-in-groove frame to allow for this movement.

.) Clock Finish: I use only Danish oil that is applied in several hand-rubbed coats for that durable gentle sheen and low luster appearance that brings out the natural beauty of wood.

.) Clock Care: Follow enclosed instructions for time settings and battery changes. A battery should last up to two years. Occasional dusting is all that is needed to upkeep the appearance of the clocks. I would; however, not expose the clocks to rain or inclement weather outdoors.

.) Why My Clocks Are Unique: First, upon receipts of your order each clock is individually hand crafted for you. The clocks are not mass-produced. Next, when produced from solid wood, wood grain patterns and minute design patterns will vary slightly in each clock. No two clocks are exactly alike. My scroll-sawed clock's original design is copyrighted and will not be found anywhere else. Because each clock is hand crafted, their availability is greatly limited. Production time for my clocks may take up to six weeks. This is what makes my clocks so special, so unique and sets them apart from machine made, mass produced products.
